a different sort of country

A few weeks ago I spent the weekend in Oregon, (here is a post I already did on my time in the city) our purpose for going to Portland was to attend a wedding and it happened to be in the country. While we were driving around looking for civilization and somewhere to change we came across this awesome orchard (well we couldn’t figure out what it grew but we think some sort of fruit) and thought it would be a beautiful spot to take a few pictures. It was so enchanting and as we drove back into the trees it felt like we had gone into an entirely different world. I know some of my amazing photographer friends would look at these and see all the horrible shadows but for me it was just a truly magical and beautiful spot.

This dress is so much fun. It was a find at TJ MAXX ( I think I paid $16) and I love the bright red and pretty high low cut. I wanted to show you all this dress because on the hanger it looked so terrible. The red caught my eye and the flowy look, but besides that it looked like it would fit kinda goofy. For some odd reason I decided to try it on and LOVED it! So I wanted to encourage you all to try on something that may not look like “a find” at first. Something that maybe catches your eye but then you pass it up, because it may turn out to be, like this dress, and become one of your favorites.

Thank you all for checking out my blog the other day when I announced H&M’s 50 States of Fashion Contest. The support of my followers blew me away and I am thankful for all my new friends I made because of this process. I will be posting another H&M post soon so be on the lookout for it!

xoxo
